early years.
My passion has always been with art and design, I studied Graphic Design at university and have worked in the industry since 1998. I've done everything from designing ironing board covers to saucepan packaging to 200 page brochures.
I got into web design after the company I worked for wanted to branch out into web, the internet was still quite new and we were only just starting to get away from modem dial up. I went on a 2 day dreamweaver html course in 2000 and that was my introduction to web and I was hooked. I realised at the time that Flash and actionscript offered an animated user experience so began to create most of my websites using flash (unheard of these days!).
technology.
Web design & development has come so far in the 16 years i've been doing it, with the introduction of mobile technology and the speed of internet it's constantly changing, most people these days view websites on ipads or iphones so the way we code has changed considerably. It's not just about designing for desktop anymore, our first and foremost thought is how it will be received on mobile.
There's alot more involved these days from when I started all those years ago and who knows what web development will be 16 years down the line, all i know is that i'm as passionate now as i was then and looking forward to spreading the web design love.
